Currently I’m am booking private lessons only on Saturdays. This means that they fill up very quickly. It may be 4-6 weeks before I can see you in some cases! The exception is for the puppy start program!

I currently have no plans for any beginner level obedience or puppy classes. Sorry! Please contact Jaymie at Paws on Training.

Private Lessons

Private Lesson Costs
$125 for the first assessment. $75 for each lesson after.

Each lesson will last for roughly one hour, and depending on what the issues are will be held at my facility, or a city location. The first assessment we will be doing quite a bit of talking, and go over the goals, and the methods we will use to get them. Your dog will not be fixed after one lesson, and it is really important that you realise that the longer your dog has had the issue, the longer it will take to fix it. There are no "quick fixes" in dog training, and a plan needs to be carefully thought out, and followed through.

I have worked with all sorts of issues- including fear related problems, resource guarding, adjusting to new babies, leash reactivity, aggression, biting and more. Working with behavior problems is not the same as Obedience training. It is very specialised, and it is important that you seek qualified help in dealing with serious issues. If my methods are not what you are looking for, I would be happy to refer you to someone else who might be able to help.

Problem Solving Classes and Workshops
Workshops and Seminars happen a few times a year, when I am available and when I have enough interest! For more information please contact me. I don’t have anything planned yet but will have some stuff for the spring!

The Confident Canine-
This class is geared toward fearful/and or reactive dogs who have a hard time coping with dogs, people, environmental stress, or a combination of the above. Through positive, relationship based training you can help your dog to be confident, and focused in the face of stress or fear. This class will combine theories from resources such as Control Unleashed, BAT Training, and Click to Calm.

Ready, Set, Recall! - this is a 3 week class that focuses on getting a reliable recall. Coming when called is one of the most important things to teach your dog, and is also one of the most common issues among dog owners. This is a fast paced class that builds up your recall skills using fun games and exercises.

Get Focused- build up your dogs attention and focus through games, and drills. It is a great way to teach dogs about making the choice to focus rather than having to be nagged at. This is a great class or workshop for all levels regardless of past training!

Scent Detection/Nosework
Learn about this new sport that is taking the dogworld by storm! Teach your dog to find specific odors (such as wintergreen, pine, and thyme). This is a fun sport that really puts your dogs sniffer to the test! Check out Sniff & Tell for more information on classes!

Puppy Start Program
A series of three private lessons for puppies from 8 weeks to 5 months. A great way to start your pup off on the right foot- long before they are old enough for puppy classes. Young puppies are capable of learning so much- but it isn't safe for them to be out and about until after their vaccinations. The Puppy Start program is a way around that! Work through typical puppy issues like biting, housetraining, crate training, chewing, etc and real life skills and manners!
Cost $150.00
